MP3 File Renamer is a software program intended to help you rename and organize your entire music collection in a very short time. All your MP3 files with a non-descriptive name will be automatically renamed, thus you will very easily identify them in the future. Besides that, they will be organized under a folder structure that will make it even easier for you to locate them.
The first time you run the program, the "Main Configuration" Wizard will automatically execute, allowing you to set the general parameters needed for the program to work properly. Here you can set the source folder, from which the program will take the files to be analyzed and organized; the action, whether the files have to be moved or copied from its original folder to the program's database; the destination folder, where the program will create its database, and the music organizing method, that allows you to tell the program how it should create its internal folder/filename structure. As an example, you can choose to create the folder structure as "Genre/Artist Name/Album Name" and the file name as "Artist name + Album name + Track number + Song name".mp3. Of course, you can run this wizard again whenever you need to.
The program's interface is very nice, and provides shortcuts for almost all the functionality the program includes. Besides that, it keeps a log for all the program's activities that you can view at any time. You can configure the number of messages per page, and move among the log's pages through specially designed controls. It also allows you to display a list with all the pending (running) long-term operations. Furthermore, you can also change the program's window appearance by selecting among several pre-defined border styles and color schemes.
Once you have everything configured, you can proceed to analyze and organize your files with just one click. It is very important to note that the program will process even non-audio files, and will create individual folders inside its structure for different file types, including images, text files, videos, programs, archive files, and data files. The program also includes a built-in media player for music and video files, as well as an image viewer, for image files. It can be minimized to the system tray area too.
